Don’t close the door on Ottawa’s future.

Ottawa is a special place.

Ottawa is a special place where hard work, taking care of our families and telling the truth still matters. But, some are spreading negativity and mistruths in order to divide our families and hold our community back.

We’ve been here before. A small group fought development of our north industrial park, saying it would devastate our community. But, they were wrong. Together, we embraced the future and forged ahead.

Today, the park is an Ottawa success story that fuels thousands of jobs and investments in our community. Now, it’s time for the next generation of opportunity.

Don’t close the door on Ottawa’s future.

Why vote No?

Franklin County Courthouse

Helps reduce our property taxes. A NO vote will help shift the property tax burden off of our families - who already pay enough - by attracting new commercial and industrial development that will pay its fair share of the property tax base.

Keeps Ottawa open for business. A NO vote will give our community the chance to consider the right opportunities to attract jobs and reduce our property taxes - instead of closing the door on technology-related opportunities and sending a message to job-creators that they aren’t welcome in Ottawa.

Secures the economic development process that has protected our community for generations. A NO vote secures the process that has allowed Ottawa to attract and keep major employers like American Eagle Distribution, Wal-Mart Distribution, Kalmar and MacFasteners. That process requires strict reviews and public hearings on all aspects of a company’s development plans, including their utility needs, noise setbacks, job numbers and architectural plans before the community decides whether or not to approve a new business.

DON’T BE FOOLED. Question 2 would make Ottawa the only city in Kansas to put a long-term ban on technology and data businesses - which means our community gets passed over, sending jobs and property tax relief to other communities.

Vote no to protect our future.
